National emblem of Lithuania

Official Journal of the European Union

All denominations show the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Lithuania. At the bottom, the name of the issuing country ‘LIETUVA’ with the mint mark at its left side. On the top right side of the design, the year of issuance. The differences in design consist of inserted artistic elements — lines — in the background of the stars in two of the three designs: the laying of lines in the vertical position as in 1 and 2 euro coins and the horizontal position as in 10, 20 and 50 euro cent. The background of stars in the design of the 1, 2 and 5 euro cent is plain. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
